Louis Tomlinson on Thursday debuted a rock-tinged song, “Kill My Mind.”
“So happy to be able to share new music with you all,” the 27-year-old singer tweeted. “Hope you love it!”
In the track, produced by Jamie Hartman, Tomlinson declares: “You kill my mind / Raise my body back to life/ And I don’t know what I’d do without you now.”
Tomlinson said “Kill My Mind” is about doing fun, silly things when you’re young. “It’s about going through an experimental phase in your youth and doing things that might not be good for you,” he explained, in a release, “but they are exciting!”
It’s the second single from Tomlinson’s forthcoming debut solo album.
"The next few songs I have coming out finally represent me as an artist. I felt like I had to make a certain sound of music, but then I had a moment where I sat and thought, I just need to make music that is true to myself."
Tomlinson added: "I want to be able to move people with words. I want my lyrics to be honest and say things that matter and mean something."
