On Sunday’s season finale of Mariah’s World on E!, superstar diva Mariah Carey shared part of a break-up ballad titled “I Don’t.”
The song is inspired by the singer’s split from Australian billionaire James Packer last October.
“When you love someone / you just don't treat them bad,” Carey sings, borrowing a line from Donell Jones’ 1999 track “Where I Wanna Be.”
“You messed up all we had / Probably think I'm coming back / but I don't, I don't."
As the song ends, Carey takes off her engagement ring and leaves it behind.
During the episode, Carey spoke about the end of her engagement to Packer. “Ever since the tour wrapped I took some time just to process my feelings and I started writing a song to express what I've been going through,” she explained.
“And if you're not getting the love that you need from someone that you're supposed to be in a real relationship with, then why remain in that situation?”
According to reports, “I Don’t” will be released Feb. 3 as a collaboration with rapper YG.
