With only days to go before the 50th anniversary of the release of The Beatles album Abbey Road, two versions of “Oh! Darling” have been released.
There’s a remixed track, produced by Giles Martin (the son of Beatles producer George Martin) and a previously unreleased “Take 4” version that features Billy Preston on Hammond organ.
Both are part of the deluxe reissues of Abbey Road that drop on Sept. 27.
“Oh! Darling” was written by Paul McCartney.
The Super Deluxe Edition has 23 outtakes and demos in addition to the original 17 songs remixed from the original multi-track recordings. There’s also a 100-page book with a foreword by McCartney.
Abbey Road was released on Sept. 26, 1969. They were the last recordings The Beatles made as a four-man band.
