Paul McCartney’s collaboration with Elvis Costello, “Twenty Fine Fingers”, has never had an official release. Until now.
The former Beatles frontman shared the original demo, recorded in 1987, on Tuesday. It features Costello on the guitar.
The song will see a release on the forthcoming Flowers in the Dirt reissue. Before now, it has only been available on The McCartney/MacManus Collaboration, where it was mistitled “Twenty-Five Fingers”.
“The demos are red hot off the skillet and that’s why we wanted to include them on this boxed set,” McCartney said in a statement.
The reissue will include 18 other songs featuring Costello, including the never-before-released “Tommy’s Coming Home”. Fans will also be treated to a 112-page hardcover book, McCartney’s handwritten notes and lyrics, and a DVD of archive footage.
