Sam Smith and Renée Zellweger celebrate the late Judy Garland with a duet of “Get Happy,” which was released Tuesday.
The song, penned by Harold Arlen and Ted Koehler in 1930, was performed by Garland in the 1950 movie Summer Stock and became one of her signature songs in concerts.
Zellweger portrays Garland in the new movie Judy, which earned a standing ovation when it was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month.
The Smith-Zellweger single comes a few days before the soundtrack album, which drops on Sept. 27 – the same day as the film’s release. It also features a duet with Zellweger with Montreal-raised singer Rufus Wainwright.
