On Friday, Shawn Mendes released a new acoustic guitar version of his hit track, “Mercy”.
Though “Mercy” already received the acoustic treatment last August, this new version is stripped back even further: just a guitar and Mendes’ vanilla vocals.
The 18-year-old singer also shared a new set of lyrics with fans on Twitter Friday. “These are some interesting lyrics I wrote today,” he tweeted. “I’m not sure what exactly about or how to finish them but I like them.”
Mendes is currently prepping for The Illuminate Tour, which kicks off Apr. 27 in Glasgow and includes two Canadian dates. Listen to the new song below:
