Here it is, Taylor Swift fans!
Overnight Thursday, the pop superstar debuted the first single, "Look What You Made Me Do", from her forthcoming album Reputation.
The catchy track was co-written by Swift and Jack Antonoff but members of the '90s pop act Right Said Fred earned credits because Swift's camp acknowledge the song has the same rhythmnic structure "I'm Too Sexy." (Go ahead, sing "I'm too sexy for my shirt" when Swift sings "Ooh, look what you made me do.")
Some have also noted similarities to "Operate" by Canadian electronic artist Peaches.
"Look What You Made Me Do" quickly hit No. 1 on download charts around the world but early reviews have been mixed. "I'm not saying I don't like the new taylor swift song but it does remind me of when ross played the keyboard in friends," tweeted Abby Tomlinson of the UK.
Reputation, out Nov. 10, is the first collection of new music from Swift since 1989 in 2014. That album spawned monster hits like "Blank Space," "Shake It Off" and "Bad Blood" – and earned the singer a Grammy for Album of the Year.
Last year, Swift collaborated with Zayn on "I Don't Want to Live Forever" from the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack.
