Thomas Rhett sings the praises of his wife Lauren in the just-released “Look What God Gave Her.”
“I think I played this song 2,000 times in a month after we first wrote it,” the country star recalled, in a release. “It makes me want to dance. It makes me want to move.”
Rhett co-wrote the song with his father Rhett Akins as well as Julian Bunetta, John Ryan and J Cash.
“The song really is a celebration of how awesome my wife is. I know I’ve done that in the past, but I’ve never really done it in an uptempo way,” he said.
“My wife is so beautiful, but at the same time she’s inwardly beautiful, she’s funny, she’s kind, she’s the best mom I know … and she’s hilarious.”
The track will be included on Rhett’s fourth studio album, Center Point Road, which is set to drop May 31.
It’s one of two songs Rhett will perform on this weekend’s Saturday Night Live, where he is this season’s first country musical guest.
Rhett is bringing his live show to Canada with stops in Montreal, Ottawa and London in late April and in Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver in early May.
