Queen guitarist Brian May recorded a guitar solo on a classic Soundgarden tune for a Green Peace benefit in 1994.

The album Alternative NRG featured songs by various artists, including R.E.M., U2, Sonic Youth and others.

Soundgarden contributed its song "New Damage" from its 1991 album, Badmotorfinger. The big difference is that instead of guitarist Kim Thayil taking the solo, it's May.

May's leads first appear in the second chorus. His signature red special tone is unmistakable, and he basically shreds over the last two minutes of the song.

If anyone was wondering what May's guitar playing would sound like in a grunge or heavy metal song, here is the answer.
