Pop star Troye Sivan has partnered with Jónsi from Icelandic band Sigur Rós to create a moody song for the soundtrack to Boy Erased.
“Revelation” debuted Wednesday, ahead of the Nov. 2 opening of the film. The song was written by Sivan and Jónsi with Brett McLaughlin (aka Leland).
Boy Erased is about a teen (Lucas Hedges) whose religious parents (Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe) force him into a conversion therapy program when they discover that he is gay. The film is based on a 2016 by Garrard Conley.
Sivan not only contributes “Revelation” to the soundtrack but has a role in the film as one of the young men in the conversion program. Also featured in the Boy Erased is Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea and Taylor Swift’s beau Joe Alwyn.
Canadian actor and filmmaker Xavier Dolan also stars in the movie.
