Tyler Shaw is gifting fans with a cover of fellow Canadian Bryan Adams’ 1985 holiday tune “Christmas Time.”
Penned by Adams and Jim Valance, the original song was recorded in Vancouver. Shawn co-produced a new version with Sean Fischer.
“I’m a big fan of Bryan Adams,” Shaw said, in a release. “I grew up listening to this song every year with my family and so it holds a special place in my heart. It reminds me of the holiday and coming together with my family.”
Shaw said he doesn’t know of many other artists who have covered the song. “I wanted to put my spin on it.”
The 26-year-old B.C. pop singer is currently wrapping up The Wanted Tour with shows in St. John’s on Nov. 17, Sidney, B.C. on Nov. 20 and Vancouver on Nov. 22.
Shaw will also host the Roots x Tyler Shaw Immersive Holiday Fan Experience on Dec. 11 in Toronto, where he will perform an acoustic set.
