Weezer has released “Beginning of the End,” a song off the soundtrack to the upcoming flick Bill & Ted Face the Music.
“My head is spinning / it’s the beginning of the end,” sings Rivers Cuomo. “The people freak out when I walk out there / so scared.”
(Billy Joel has a writing credit on the song because it borrows from his 1984 hit “The Longest Time.”)
The Bill & Ted Face the Music soundtrack, which also features contributions from Lamb of God, Mastodon and Cold War Kids will be released on the same day as the movie, Aug. 28.
There are two tracks from the Wyld Stallyns, the fictional band from the Bill & Ted movies, including the long-winded “That Which Binds Us Through Time: the Chemical, Physical and Biological Nature of Love; an Exploration of the Meaning of Meaning, Part 1.”
Alex Winter and Toronto-raised Keanu Reeves return for the third film in the franchise, which started with 1989’s Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and was followed by 1991’s Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey. The movie features cameos by artists like Dave Grohl, Kid Cudi and Arcade Fire’s Win Butler.
