YUNGBLUD has released “Cotton Candy,” a song he says is about sexual liberation.
“To me sex and sexuality is about freedom and the idea that you can to lose yourself in other people of all genders, of all shapes and sizes, to find yourself and figure out who you truly are,” he explained, in a release.
“Sexual interaction should not be shamed, it should be celebrated because to have safe sex is to spread love and the world needs love more than ever right now.”
YUNGBLUD (aka 23-year-old Dominic Harrison) said he hopes “Cotton Candy” lets his fans know “it is OK to be EXACTLY WHO THEY ARE and have the right to unconditionally love who they want and be loved in return.”
“Cotton Candy” is the latest taste of his sophomore album Weird!, which drops Nov. 13. He sings: “I figured out that the modern world is / turning the wrong way ‘round / There's something about the way / our bedsheets turn religion upside down / so we just have sex to solve all our problems / Let’s do it again.”
Late last month, YUNGBLUD announced plans for the Weird Time of Life Digital Tour from Nov. 16 to Dec. 7, including Toronto on Dec. 2.
"I can’t wait to play the new songs for the first time and fall into the world with you,” he wrote on Instagram.
