Taylor Swift went back to her country music roots this year. During a Facebook Live press conference, Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild explained that T-Swift penned her group's latest single "Better Man," which was premiered just a few weeks ago on country radio stations on October 20th.

During the Facebook live session, held in Nashville's Ryman Auditorium (known as the "Mother Church of Country Music"), Fairchild explained:
"She sent us this song, and it was one that was really special to her, and she thought of us because of the harmonies, and she’s never pitched a song to anyone before. And the moment that we heard it we were like, 'man, that is a song that we're gonna cut.'"
The group went on to say that the song immediately resonated with them, and became special. They also mentioned that they've known Taylor since she was in high school and called her "a dear friend of 'theirs.'"
Taylor reacted to their kind words, posting the "Better Man" cover art to her Instagram, along with the caption, "Feeling really honored that a band I've loved for so many years decided to record this song I wrote. Good luck at #cmaawards @littlebigtown!! Love you guys."
Little Big Town is up for Vocal Group of the Year at this year's CMAs.
At their live press conference, Little Big Town announced that they would be the first artists to be performing a six-night residency at Ryman Auditorium. The residency kicks off next year on February 24th, which is the day that the group's eighth studio album The Breaker is released.
The band also revealed that during their residency, they will be inviting special guests for some exciting on-stage collaborations. And Karen says that the artists joining them on stage are not only who they think the future of country music are, but artists from all genres, and artists who have inspired them over the years. Could one of them be Taylor Swift?! It wouldn't be the first time they've performed together. The band most recently joined her on her "1989" Tour stop in Pittsburgh, PA in June 2015.
