LIZZO is urging fans to help her break a chart record.
“Truth Hurts” tops the Billboard Hot 100 for the fifth consecutive week, just three weeks shy of breaking a record for female rap tracks set by Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” ft. Charli XCX in 2014.
“YALL... IF WE KEEP THIS UP FOR 2 MORE WEEKS... TRUTH HURTS COULD BE THE LONGEST FEMALE RAP #1 OF ALL TIME,” tweeted LIZZO on Monday. “RIGHT NOW ITS ‘FANCY’ CAN WE DO IT?!”
(In fact, if it stays at No. 1 for two more weeks, it will tie “Fancy.”)
“Truth Hurts” has already set a record for the longest run at No. 1 by a rap song by a female artist unaccompanied by another artist – a record previously held by Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” in 2017.
