Lorde invited the cashier from a New York smoothie store to attend the upcoming Governors Ball with her.
After ordering a blue velvet smoothie at Liquiteria – which store worker Emely Paula Medina, @ThatEmely on Twitter, documented via video posted to Twitter – the “Liability” singer slid into her DMs and invited her to the NY music festival.
“This is my first smoothie to a famous person,” Medina said before flipping the camera to show Lorde at the counter. “We got Lorde in the house today. She had a Blue Velvet. I’m shook.”
“I was gonna ask u in the store if u wanted to come but i got shy,” Lorde messaged after her visit to the store. “To celebrate your new job!”
Medina wasn’t sure whether or not she was being punked. “No way – this is a joke right,” was her initial reply. Lorde assured her that, no, it wasn’t a prank, and let her know she could even bring a plus-1.
Not every celebrity interaction is this next level. The Governors Ball takes place this weekend in New York.
