Country music legend Loretta Lynn is in hospital after suffering a stroke at her Tennessee home late Thursday.
According to a statement from her reps, the 85-year-old singer is “currently under medical care” at a Nashville hospital “and is responsive and expected to make a full recovery.”
Lynn was scheduled to perform concerts on Friday and Saturday and has 24 shows scheduled through November. But, the statement said Lynn has been advised “to stay off the road while she is recuperating.”
Lynn, whose rise to fame was chronicled in the 1980 movie Coal Miner’s Daughter, has released 40 studio albums — with another due in August — and earned numerous CMA Awards and three Grammys.
Fans and country stars alike were quick to offer best wishes to the star via social media.
“All my love and prayers are with @LorettaLynn tonight,” tweeted Martina McBride.
Margo Price called Lynn “one of the strongest, most beautiful humans I've ever met.”
