Country music icon Loretta Lynn, 88, married Kid Rock, 49, this past weekend – sort of.
“Sorry girls, he’s taken now,” read the caption on a series of photos posted to Lynn’s official Instagram account.
The spontaneous nuptials took place after Lynn’s 69-year-old son Ernest and wife Crystal renewed their vows in front of friends and family members – shockingly, without a face mask in sight.
“It was beautiful and everything it should be,” read the caption. “Marriage isn't always easy – heck it's not even always pretty, but love holds you together and you push through the bad days to enjoy the good ones.
“I'm so proud of them and wish them years of happiness.”
Lynn’s post said “things got crazy” and she and guest Kid Rock tied the knot.
“We've always teased about getting ourselves married. Well, the preacher was already there so we had some fun with it.”
The Instagram post included the cheeky hashtags “tabloidfodder” and “cougar.”
Lynn's husband of nearly 50 years died in 1996. In 2006, Kid Rock was married to Canada’s Pamela Anderson for four months before she filed for divorce.
