Louis Vuitton is scrapping production of menswear “that directly features Michael Jackson elements” in light of allegations against the singer in Leaving Neverland.
In the two-part HBO docu-series, Wade Robson and James Safechuck detailed years of alleged sexual abuse by the King of Pop.
“We find the allegations in the documentary deeply troubling and disturbing,” Michael Burke, Vuitton’s chairman and CEO, said in a statement to WWD. “Child safety and welfare is of utmost importance to Louis Vuitton. We are fully committed to advocating this cause.”

Vuitton’s fall menswear collection, which was showcased in January during Paris Fashion Week, included T-shirts with an image of Jackson’s feet in mid-moonwalk as well as sequin-encrusted tops inspired by the late pop star’s costumes. The runway show was presented in a space made to look like the set of Jackson's "Billie Jean" video.
“My intention for this show was to refer to Michael Jackson as a pop culture artist,” explained Virgil Abloh, men’s artistic director at Vuitton, in a statement. “It referred only to his public life that we all know and to his legacy that has influenced a whole generation of artists and designers.”
