Madonna lost in her legal battle to prevent the sale of the love letter Tupac wrote to her and personal items on Monday.
The Material Girl claimed she was unaware the items were even missing until it was brought to her attention that a hairbrush containing strands of her hair, a pair of panties, the love letter and more were advertised for sale on online auctioneer Gotta Have It! Collectibles’ website in 2017.

Madonna sued the auction site and former art consultant Darlene Lutz over the sale of the items, winning a temporary block of the auction last summer.
Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Gerald Lebovits ruled that the pop star waited too long to sue for their return. Madonna had three years, under New York state law, to recover the “personal items” that went missing after she moved out of her Miami estate in 2004, according to Page Six.
“Mere ignorance or lack of discovery of the wrong is not sufficient to toll the statute,” Lebovits wrote in the ruling.
