Mariah Carey’s sister has made shocking allegations of abuse against their mother Patricia.
In court documents, Alison Carey alleged Patricia “allowed and encouraged” men "whose identities are at present unknown” to engage in “forcible touching” and “sexual assault” when she was “approximately 10 years of age.”
Carey, 58, also alleged Patricia forced her “to witness adults engaged in sexual acts with both adults and children during middle-of-the-night satanic worship meetings that included ritual sacrifices.”
The summons was filed with the State of New York Supreme Court in Ulster County on Feb. 24 but only came to light this week through reports by British tabloids.
Carey said she has been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and depression “leading her to misuse both legal and illegal drugs in an attempt to suppress the horrific memories, and to undergo extensive professional counselling.”
Citing the Child Victims Act, which temporarily waives the statute of limitations on crimes involving children, Carey is seeking “compensatory money damages for immense psychological and physical damage, mental pain and anguish and intentional infliction of severe emotion distress.”
Patricia, 83, has not responded to the summons and was not able to be reached for comment, according to media reports.
Carey, who is estranged from her famous sister, was arrested in 2016 for prostitution. At the time, police in Saugerties, New York described her as “a transient.”
She has admitted to struggling with drug addiction during her life and has previously made public pleas for financial support. In 2018, Carey told The Sun she felt abandoned by her family.
“With my mother it’s been that way for a while,” she said. “I remember taking my daughter to one of Mariah’s concerts and I saw my mother and she just walked right past us – she didn’t even look at us.”
