Marilyn Manson has finally spoken about the stage mishap that occurred during his performance in New York on Sep. 30 which resulted in a broken leg and the cancellation of nine tour dates.
In an interview with Yahoo, Manson explains he "wasn't trying to climb" the prop but was trying to "push it back and didn't get out of the way” in time. "I'm not sure what I hit my head on, but it did fall onto my leg and break the fibula in two places, the pain was excruciating.”
After being taken to hospital, the rock singer had a plate and 10 screws inserted in his leg bone, and another in his ankle.
"It definitely could have crushed my skull and my ribs," Manson said. "I have some minor bruising in that area, but it took six guys to pull it off of me. It was like wrestling a giant iron monster.”
Manson is recovering at his home in L.A., and has since rescheduled many of his U.S. tour dates for early 2018.
The Canadian date for The Heaven Upside Down Tour is scheduled for Feb. 11 at Rebel in Toronto.
