Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus has joined the chorus against three young men’s plan to stage a “Straight Pride Parade” in Boston this summer.
“To celebrate how utterly ridiculous a Straight Pride parade is, I’m going to auction off one of my basses, match the final bid dollar-for-dollar, and donate all the money to the Trevor Project,” Hoppus tweeted, referring to a U.S. organization that provides support to LGBTQ youth.

On June 1, Hoppus tweeted "Happy Pride Month" wishes. "Always trying to be a better ally and advocate," he wrote.
Smash Mouth was more direct in its reaction: ”Straight Pride Parade????? F**K OFF!!!!!!!!”
The band also retweeted a basic explanation of the reason Pride parades are important – to celebrate the right not to be persecuted – and commented “BAM!!!!!”
Mitchy Collins of lovelytheband tweeted: “Straight pride parade? I’m trying to think of something funny to say but like I can’t cause this is the dumbest funniest s**t I’ve ever heard. Y’all need to SIT DOWN.”
