Mark Ronson has come out as sapiosexual – a label for people who are attracted to intelligence over looks or gender.
The 44-year-old songwriter and producer made the revelation during an appearance Thursday on Good Morning Britain.
“I didn’t know that there was a word for it,” Ronson said. “Yes, I feel like I identify as sapiosexual.”
Appearing on the show before Ronson, author Nichi Hodgson explained: "The definition means intelligence first then attraction. I date men and women and identify as bisexual, and I realised the thing that linked all people that I have dated has been their brains."
Ronson’s marriage to French actress and singer Joséphine de La Baume ended in divorce last year and he was previously engaged to actress Rashida Jones. He is reportedly dating SNL staffer Rebecca Schwartz.
He has had hits with a long list of artists, including Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Bruno Mars, and won an Oscar for Best Original Song (for “Shallow” from A Star Is Born).
