Marshmello’s custom ride was jacked Wednesday night – and the DJ-producer was able to watch it crash into a light pole at the end of a joyride.
The Ford Hennessey VelociRaptor 6x6, estimated to cost about $450,000, was dropped off Wednesday evening at a dealership in Malibu by Marshmello’s manager Moe Shalizi. Parked in a service bay, a man rode up on a bicycle, tossed it into the bed of the truck and drove away.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies later spotted the one-of-a-kind vehicle and began a pursuit that involved the California Highway Patrol – and a helicopter from a local news station.
The driver of the truck eventually lost control as he exited a Taco Bell parking lot and crashed into a light pole in North Hollywood. He was arrested without incident. Police said the suspect may have been under the influence of alcohol of drugs.
It is not known how much damage was caused to the truck, which Marshmello proudly showed off on social media last year.
