Meat Loaf is suing organizers of a horror convention and the hotel that hosted it after suffering injuries in a fall there last May.
The 72-year-old rock star, whose real name is Michael Lee Aday, filed a lawsuit Monday in Forth Worth, Texas against Texas Frightmare Weekend LLC and the Hyatt Corp.
Meat Loaf alleges the defendants were negligent in hanging black drapes at the back edge of the stage, causing him to fall and suffer serious neck, collarbone and shoulder injuries that have kept him from performing.
The “Bat Out of Hell” singer said the incident put him in hospital for 42 days and required him to receive physical therapy.

Neither the convention organizers nor the hotel have publicly commented on the lawsuit, which has not been tested in court.
In February 2018 – nearly a year before he fell at the Texas convention – Meat Loaf told Rolling Stone his health issues may keep him from performing ever again. “I haven’t been able to sing in a year,” he said. “I just cannot do it. My back is driving me crazy.”
Meat Loaf also said pain was shooting down his back “like a sword” when he collapsed on stage during a 2016 concert in Edmonton.
