Meghan Patrick leads the nominees in country categories at the 2019 Juno Awards.
The singer earned noms for Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Country Album of the Year (for Country Music Made Me Do It).
In the latter category, Patrick is competing with Brett Kissel (We Were That Song), The Reklaws (Feels Like That), Tim Hicks (New Tattoo) and Jess Moskaluke (A Small Town Christmas).
“I’m ecstatic!,” said Moskaluke, who won the Juno in 2017.
“It’s always been a career dream for me to record a Christmas album that reflects the way I felt as a child during the holidays. A Small Town Christmas is just that, and now, it’s a JUNO-nominated album. That’s so much more than I could’ve asked for.”
The Washboard Union earned a nomination for Breakthrough Group of the Year.
Most of the Junos will be handed out at an industry dinner on March 16. A handful will be given out during the March 17th live broadcast from Budweiser Gardens in London, Ont., which will be hosted by Sarah McLachlan.
