Metallica explores a solider's battle with PTSD in the new music video for "Confusion" from their upcoming tenth album Hardwired... to Self-Destruct.
Directed by Claire Marie Vogel, the video opens with a female soldier kicking down a door in a war-torn city, cautiously inspecting every corner of an abandoned building to find a telephone on the floor. She picks it up and is instantly transported to an office, where mundane activities and items trigger her PTSD, bringing her back onto the battlefield. "Delusion/ all sanity is but a memory," sings frontman James Hetfield, "My life: the war that never ends." Watch the music video above.
Metallica will celebrate the release of Hardwired... to Self-Destruct, which is available this Friday, November 18th, with a live-stream of their performance at the House of Vans in London and "Blackened Friday," where limited edition items will be available at independent record stores.
