Miley Cyrus and boyfriend Cody Simpson are among the millions of people who have discovered the joyful Tammy Ortery, a Virginia woman whose dance moves have made her a TikTok sensation.
The pop couple jumped on TikTok to show how they learned Ortery’s choreography to C+C Music Factory’s 1990 hit “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now).”
“If we can’t get back to work..... let’s get back to WERK,” Cyrus captioned the clip, which shows her and Simpson nailing Ortery’s moves in swimsuits. (They racked up over 9 million views in 24 hours.)

Ortery’s video has garnered more than 6.5 million views since she shared it in early June, but it is only one of several dance videos the mother/stepmother of four – who goes by ramsgirl30 – has put on TikTok.
A clip of Ortery moving to “Lose Control” by Missy Elliott has earned more than 3 million views and she has shared clips of herself dancing to Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary” and the Guess Who’s “American Woman.” The high school secretary can even rock an air guitar solo.
“It’s crazy but I’m excited,” Ortery said in a message to her fans worldwide on Monday. “Y’all are awesome people to just follow me and like me. Wow. Thank you so much.”
