Is Miranda Lambert pulling the trigger on a new Pistol Annies album? All signs point to yes after the country singer teased fans with an Instagram post hinting that she was writing new material for the band on Thursday.
In the post, Lambert expressed how she gets song inspiration, and revealed that new music from the girl trio could be on the way, judging from her hashtags and even tagging her two fellow bandmates:
“I sing (and write ....and drink) in the shower. #andsoitbegins #music #maybepistolannies #songstarts #acoustics,” Lambert captioned the post.
Lambert, Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe found success together as the Pistol Annies with their 2011 debut single “Hell on Heels.”
Pistol Annies released their debut album by the same name later that year – which eventually took the No. 1 country album spot – and even appeared on The Hunger Games soundtrack The Hunger Games: Songs From District 12 And Beyond.
Following the release of their second album in 2013, Annie Up, the group abruptly cancelled all scheduled tour dates in June of that year, citing “unforeseen circumstances.”
