Morgan Wallen was arrested this morning (April 8) on felony charges after he reportedly threw a chair from the rooftop of a bar in Nashville, Tennessee.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department's social media account, the 30-year-old country star was booked on three counts of felony reckless endangerment and one count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct for throwing a chair from the rooftop of Chief's Bar and nearly hitting two police officers in the area.
The post adds that "the chair landed on Broadway, close to 2 MNPD officers. His bond: $15,250." He was released from Davidson County Jail at 3:30AM on Monday.
The incident occurred at Chief's Bar, which is owned by fellow country star Eric Church and celebrating its grand opening this past weekend.
According to the arrest report, Chief's staff members told the police that Wallen was the one responsible for throwing the chair from the sixth story of the bar.
Wallen's attorney, Worrick Robinson, confirmed the arrest to the New York Post, saying, “At 10:53 pm Sunday evening Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is cooperating fully with authorities.”
The Davidson County Criminal Court website lists Wallen’s next court date as May 3, which falls on the same day as his second of two concerts at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
Wallen made headlines in 2020 after he was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct after being thrown out of Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk in downtown Nashville by security guards.
