“Let’s try this again.”
Morgan Wallen tweeted those four words Wednesday after it was announced that he will be the musical guest on the Dec. 5 episode of Saturday Night Live.
The country singer was booted from his scheduled appearance on the Oct. 10 episode after he was caught partying without a mask or social distancing only days before the show.
“I wish I could have made country music and my fans proud this Saturday,” Wallen said at the time, “but I respect the decision.”
He recently told Bobby Bones getting dropped from SNL in October was “almost a good thing” and admitted he wants to be a better role model, especially for his 3-month-old son Indigo.
“It kind of forced me away, just to kind of reflect and look at myself and kind of get to know myself again and it was good for me,” he said. “So I took like a while, almost two weeks, and just turned my phone off and just didn’t even look at it.
“I don’t really love the circumstances that led to that but I’m thankful for where it led me.
Wallen will perform on an episode hosted by Jason Bateman. It will be the 27-year-old singer’s first time as musical guest on SNL – and the show’s first country act since Luke Combs in February.
