Morrissey has scrapped the first few dates of a Canadian tour that was set to kick off in Vancouver on Sunday night.
In a statement, Ticketmaster blamed “a medical emergency stemming from an accident incurred while traveling in Europe.” It added that "spirits are high and the artist is on the path to a swift recovery.”
As of Sunday evening, Morrissey has not commented on social media or on his official website.

Ticketmaster said “all remaining dates on Morrissey's tour will resume as planned, commencing in Toronto on Friday Apr 26.”
The ex-Smiths frontman is scheduled to do two concerts in Toronto and one on April 29 in Montreal.
The April 14 and 15 Vancouver shows have been bumped to Oct. 14 and 15 and the April 18 Edmonton show will take place on April 10, according to the Ticketmaster website.
A rescheduled Calgary show is currently listed as “TBA” and there are no new dates for the Saskatoon and Winnipeg shows.
Morrissey is touring Canada 13 years after calling it “the cruellest and most self-serving nation” and vowing never to perform here until the end of the annual commercial seal hunt. In 2006, he urged fans to "boycott Canadian goods" and, in two years later, called Canada “a place that people such as I couldn’t bear to visit.”
