A number of music stars got into the spirit of Halloween this past weekend, including several Canadians.
Some went all out (The Weeknd endured hours of prosthetic make-up by Mike Marino to become Eddie Murphy’s Nutty Professor) and others didn’t (Shawn Mendes, out in Miami with Camila Cabello, was a “beat up” version of himself).
Céline Dion was simply magical as Nanny McPhee and Carly Rae Jepsen was simply bedazzled. Alanis Morrissette had no bones about being a skeleton with husband Mario ‘Souleye’ Treadway and their 10-year-old son Ever.
A couple of artists named “Lil” used Halloween to pay tribute to other artists – Lil Nas X transformed into "Super Bass" queen Nicki Minaj and Lil Xan became Billie Eilish.
Ciara was a perfect Cardi B, with 6-year-old son Future as Offset.
Jennifer Lopez dressed up as vintage Madonna and shared a set of pics on Instagram that she captioned: "Crazy for youuuu..."
Both Janelle Monáe and Lizzo were looking fly – literally. On Instagram, Monáe showed off a series of photos of herself as a convincing fly after dressing up as Chucky. Lizzo shared several pics of herself as the fly on Mike Pence’s head before donning a cat costume by the pool to become a “WAP.”
Other stars chose to familiar characters. Kevin Jonas celebrated Halloween with his kids as Minions and Meghan Trainor was a spot-on Cindy Lou Who from How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Halsey killed it as Victoria from Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride. “It takes my breath away!,” she captioned a set of pics. “Well it would if I had any…”
Also getting into the spirit of Halloween this year were Cardi B (as Medusa), Snoop Dogg, Kelsea Ballerini, Alicia Keys and Demi Lovato.
