Some big music stars are coming together – virtually, of course – to raise funds for Vancouver Island residents in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rock for Relief: A Living Room Concert for Vancouver Island, set for Friday at 8 p.m. PT, will feature performances by Victoria-born David Foster as well as Randy Bachman and Tal Bachman, the Tenors and Trevor Guthrie. American Idol finalist Lauren Spencer-Smith, who lives in Nanaimo, will also perform.
The line-up also includes Aaron Pritchett, Jesse Roper, Carmanah and Kathryn Calder and appearances by Steve Nash, Silken Laumann and Rick Hansen.
Rock for Relief is an initiative of local television station CHEK with the Victoria Foundation and the Nanaimo Foundation, with donations going to the Rapid Relief Fund and Island Response Fund.
The event will be broadcast on CHEK and streamed on the station’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.
