Veteran musician Leland Sklar is raging against Facebook for allegedly locking him out of his account for 30 days.
The 72-year-old bassist with The Section, who has backed such artists as Phil Collins, Jackson Browne, Carole King and James Taylor, said he is being penalized for using the platform to express views that were critical of the Trump administration.
“Facebook has blocked me for 30 days for going against their standards,” Sklar fumed in a video shared via YouTube. “I guess their standards are really only let lying politicians and Nazi a**holes and all these creatures in Washington post what they want.”
Sklar has played on dozens of albums, from those by The Doors and Rod Stewart to Ricky Martin and Enrique Iglesias.
“It breaks my heart … and this is a critical month in the history of our country and in the history of humanity but these a**holes at FB don’t care,” he said. “I’m sitting here just so angry.”
It’s not known what specific content of Sklar’s violated Facebook’s Community Standards. The company does not comment on individual cases but explains online that, for content about public figures, “we remove attacks that are severe as well as certain attacks where the public figure is directly tagged in the post or comment.”
