Canada's rich history of punk rock is the subject of a forthcoming book that documents the rise of a number of bands that went on to become national heroes and international stars.
Written by Matt Bobkin and Adam Feibel, In Too Deep: When Canadian Punks Took Over the World, will take a look at "how it how Canada became the improbable birthplace of a new age of punk icons."
Published by House of Anansi Press Inc, the book features exclusive interviews and personal stories from nine artists of the era: Simple Plan, Sum 41, Alexisonfire, Billy Talent, Marianas Trench, Gob, Silverstein, Avril Lavigne and Fefe Dobson.
In Too Deep covers the various ways in which these artists achieved success, from rowdy punk rock and arena-sized ambitions, to the reinvention of the popstar and the quest to bring hardcore into the mainstream, the book.
