Retro acts New Order and Pet Shop Boys announced Thursday they are bumping The Unity Tour to 2021 due to COVID-19.
“Please hold on to your tickets as they will be honoured for the new dates,” read a message from the two acts. “If you are a ticket holder and cannot make the new show, you will receive an email directly allowing you to request a refund.”
The Unity Tour was scheduled to launch Sept. 5 at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage and stop at Rogers Arena in Vancouver on Sept. 24.
Instead, New Order and Pet Shop Boys – who have never toured together – will kick things off on Sept. 18, 2021 in Toronto and perform in Vancouver on Oct. 7, 2021.
New Order hits include “Blue Monday” and “Bizarre Love Triangle” while the Pet Shop Boys repertoire includes “West End Girls,” “Being Boring” and “Love Comes Quickly.”
