Anyone who has lost a loved one will relate to “Five More Minutes,” the new single from country singer Scotty McCreery.

Last summer, the 23-year-old American Idol season 10 winner said the song, written by Frank Rogers and Monty Criswell, was inspired by the death of his grandfather.

"I wish I had me a pause button. Lord knows I'd hit it and give myself five more minutes," McCreery sings.

But the song also refers to situations where someone might want more time, like kissing a girl or fishing with dad.

“Five More Minutes” is McCreery’s first release since 2015’s “Southern Belle.”
