Niall Horan has become the third member of One Direction to top the Billboard 200 album chart with a solo release.
His debut Flicker sold 152,000 copies in its first week. Both Zayn Malik and Harry Styles also saw their solo albums hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
“My mind is completely blown,” Horan said in a statement. “An album that I wrote has gone to #1 in the United States and I cannot thank you guys enough for supporting it.”
The achievement makes One Direction the only group besides the Beatles to have three of its members go on to have chart-topping solo albums. John Lennon, George Harrison and Paul McCartney all had No. 1 solo albums.
One Direction stands to top the Beatles because neither Liam Payne or Louis Tomlinson have put out solo albums.
