One Direction's Niall Horan has released his second solo single "Slow Hands," a sexy, stomp-and-clap tune that showcases his seductive side with lyrics like, "We should take this back to my place / That's what she said right to my face / 'cause I want you bad, yeah I want you baby / I've been thinking 'bout it all day."
For his as-yet-untitled debut studio album, the Irish singer-songwriter wrote about 70 songs and narrowed it down to about 16. This weekend, Horan is planning to complete the final two songs for the forthcoming LP, which was introduced by his tender acoustic cut "This Town" last November. Although the set is nearly finished, it is taking longer than normal to wrap up because of Horan's decision to record with live production.
"So I record everything fully live; full live band," he told On Air with Ryan Seacrest on Thursday morning. "It's a longer process and I've done it before, but it's good. I pick all the songs I want to record before I go into the studio, so I kind of knew what was going to be on the album three or four months ago but I have yet to record it."
On the album's direction, he said "Slow Hands" is the "most out there" because he "wanted to try something different." He also revealed that the rest of the album features a lot of acoustic arrangements like "This Town" and "other flavors of music that [he's] into."
Also during his interview, Horan revealed that his 1D colleagues Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson – who both have released solo records – aren't worried about copying each other's styles and doing something in the same vein due to their different personalities and interests.
"We all have our own different kind of music. My music is very me, and when I heard Harry's song, I was like, 'That's so Harry because that's all the stuff he listens to all the time,'" Horan said.
