More bad news for rap fans in Toronto: Nicki Minaj and Future have cancelled an Oct. 1 show at the city’s Scotiabank Centre.
The announcement came one day after Drake and Migos scrapped Monday’s Aubrey & the Three Amigos tour stop at the same venue.
Toronto was the only scheduled stop on the North American leg of the NickiHndrxx tour, which was set to begin Sept. 21 in Baltimore.
According to a statement, Minaj decided to “contribute more time to rehearsal” and has bumped the start of the tour to February in Europe.
But, Page Six reported Tuesday – before the tour cancellation was announced – that sales for the NickiHndrxx tour were bad. It quoted a source at promoter Live Nation as saying: "Nicki’s tour could be the most disappointing ticket sales of the year for any artist."
Minaj said she will bring the tour to North America in May.
“I can’t wait for you to see what I have in store! Next level! I’m so proud of what we’re working on & cant wait to give you the show you deserve,” the rapper, who recently dropped the album Queen, tweeted. “It simply can’t be up & running in a month. I also have TV spots, videos shoots, + Made In America Festival coming up.”
