Nicki Minaj announced Thursday that she is delaying the release of her new album Queen.

The rapper’s fourth studio album was originally supposed to drop on June 15 but will now be out on Aug. 10.

“I love my label, but I’m happy that I’ve always been blessed to have the freedom and the creativity to do what I want when I want how I want it,” Minaj said on Instagram Live.

“Trust me, it’s the better choice.”

Minaj has already shared two singles from her first album since 2014's The Pinkprint – "Barbie Tingz" and "Chun-Li."

Minaj likely wanted to avoid competing with new albums from Drake, Kanye West and Kid Cudi that are set for release in June.
