Nicki Minaj didn’t hold back when someone criticized her on social media for “hypocritical” lyrics.
It all started when Minaj talked to Elle magazine about strippers and “Instagram girls” who sell sex. She said: “I’d rather you be called snobby or a b**ch or conceited – I’d rather you be called that than easy, and a ho, and a slut.”
The rap superstar added that she can’t look down on these women because she sells sex appeal.
On Twitter, Jerome Trammel accused Minaj of using the interview to “slut shame certain types of women.”
He tweeted: “Your lyrics are hypocritical. You went over to @ElleMagazine to slut shame certain types of women, cause that wasn’t your route (allegedly). People need to STOP trying to dictate & police women & THEIR bodies! If you can’t HELP, don’t HURT!”
Minaj was having none of it.
“Suck my d**k A*****E. Had u read the article, I was critiquing MYSELF more than ANYTHING,” she tweeted in response. “What I SAID was: I HOPE my overt sexual LYRYCS & PHOTOS don’t make my fans THINK that I’m telling them to be promiscuous & to know their worth! Lyrics, photos & F**KING r all 3 diff things.
“A woman can be a ‘freak’ w|her man, sexual, spit explicit lyrics, an exhibitionist, love freaky girl talk w|her girlfriends, require men to treat her like a QUEEN, etc. NONE OF THAT EQUATES TO SELLING P***Y. Now pop my d**k outcho mouf. The Nicki hate train has left the bldng.”
But, Minaj also encouraged her fans to go at Trammel, which many did. He responded by accusing her of “inciting violence.”
“They’re opinions,” he pointed out. “To be harassed, bullied & threaten due to a celebrity inciting violence, with over 150 million followers across her social media pages & telling them to beat me is WRONG! Period!”
Describing himself as “emotionally/physically drained,” Trammel has started a GoFundMe page to raise money for legal action.
