An all-star cast of music veterans including Nicole Scherzinger, Kelly Rowland, Liam Payne and AJ McLean headline a new Netflix series looking to assemble pop music's next big thing.
Building the Band will feature Scherzinger (The Pussycat Dolls), Payne (One Direction), and Rowland (Destiny’s Child) as the show's judges, with McLean (Backstreet Boys) set to host.
This won't be just any reality TV competition series however. According to the press release, Building the Band is looking to form "the next great music group without any of the members ever seeing each other."
Following in the footsteps of music competition shows such as Popstars, Fame Academy and The Voice, the Love is Blind-style twist finds "a group of talented singers [entering] the competition for the opportunity of a lifetime: to find their perfect bandmates solely based on musical compatibility, connection, and, most importantly, merit."
Each of the groups will be responsible for their own looks, choreography and style, with Netflix promising "plenty of drama, next-level artistry, and unforgettable performances."
The show is currently in production and has yet to receive a release date.
