Nikki Sixx spoke recently about recovering from hip replacement surgery he had last month to correct damage caused by decades of performing.
On his show Sixx Sense, the 58-year-old Mötley Crüe and Sixx:A.M. rocker said he felt needing a new hip was an "old person thing," but because of how active people are now, he realized plenty of 30- and 40-year-olds are having the operation.
Sixx also spoke about the surgery itself, explaining how they played music of his choosing in the operating room as the anesthetics took hold and that he fell asleep to Black Sabbath's "War Pigs."
Sixx said he was able to take home the bone doctors removed from him, but it turned to "mush."
Sixx has made a quick recovery and started walking the day of his surgery. Now that he has a piece of titanium in him, his friends are calling him "Bionic Sixx" and "Sixx 2.0"
The rocker recommends the surgery to anyone considering it and said he's feeling "a lot better" than he was before.
