Nikki Yanofsky released her return EP, Solid Gold, via Universal Music Canada, on September 30th, 2016.
The new album includes 6 new songs which the singer manifested from personal and intimate experiences. Her main inspiration is her own relationship. At only 22 years old, our national prodigy is becoming a woman.
To add to the list of legendary producers she's worked with in the past (her last album, 2014’s Little Secret was produced by Quincy Jones), this EP is co-produced by none other than Wyclef Jean. Yanofsky had already worked with him when she was 13, and had wanted to make a whole album with him since then.
To put things in perspective, the young woman has already gone platinum in Canada with her first (self-titled) album (produced by Phil Ramone), has performed with Quincy Jones, Justin Bieber, Drake and others, collaborated with Elton John, Feist, Will.i.am, Herbie Hancock among others, has performed for over 3 billion people during the Vancouver Olympic Games. She has also been nominated multiple times for JUNO awards, has gathered 12 million streams on Spotify, and raised more than $10 million for various charities.
The incredibly mature woman is only starting to astonish us with her actions, and her last album will certainly help everyone see that.
