Nine Inch Nails appear ready to announce a world tour, however, they have decided to delay the announcement due to the ongoing wildfires currently devastating the Los Angeles area.
After dates of the Peel It Back Tour began to leak online, Trent Reznor and company decided to confirm that the tour does exist and it will be happening, but added that they feel it's necessary to delay proceedings in light of the fires.
“Since some dates and information about our world tour have leaked we are confirming that yes we will be touring and will provide more details soon,” the band posted on socials. “We are all watching the devastation that is unfolding in California and have paused our announcement while people try to deal with all that is happening.”
Lambgoat points out that rumours had circulated the band would be announcing the tour yesterday (January 13), with Friday set as a possible on-sale date for tickets.
Some dates even appeared on ticket-seller and event sites, which included Toronto's Scotiabank Arena on August 23, Cleveland's Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on August 31 and Tampa's Amalie Arena on September 10. However, none of those have been confirmed.
A tour lines up nicely with the possibility of hearing new music from Nine Inch Nails. For the past year, Reznor and musical partner Atticus Ross have been teasing that new music from their band is imminent, while promoting their work on films such as Challengers and Queer.
Reznor recently told The Hollywood Reporter, “We’re taking the inspiration we’ve garnered and funneling it into a Nine Inch Nails project, which we’re working on now. We’re ready to be back in the driver’s seat.”
