Don't plan to say "bonjour / hi" to Eminem in Montreal this summer.
Promoters of the Osheaga Music and Arts Festival confirmed Monday that the rap superstar will not be part of this year's festival line-up.
“Eminem will not be at the festival this year," Philip Vanden Brande of Evenko told iHeartRadio.ca. "We tried, but his schedule didn’t allow it."
Fans were hopeful given that Eminem is booked for festivals all over the U.S. this spring and summer, including Coachella, The Governors Ball, Boston Calling, Bonnaroo and Firefly.
"Placing a bet that Eminem is going to Osheaga since he’s basically in every other music festival," tweeted @briamcneil.
"Eminem is literally headlining every festival so far. @osheaga I'm seriously counting on you to make it happen or we are going to have major problems," tweeted freelance reporter @AleMars22 last week.
Osheaga replied: "Not so literally unfortunately, despite all our efforts, Eminem’s schedule wouldn’t allow it."
Some fans turned to a higher power in hopes of seeing Eminem in Montreal this summer. Last month, @stefstanhope tweeted: "Praying for Eminem and Chance at @osheaga." And @t0reyj0y tweeted: "Can we all bow our heads & pray together: EMINEM for Osheaga 2O18."
Eminem previously headlined Osheaga in 2011.
The festival runs Aug. 3 to 5 this year.
