Many mainstream media outlets went nuts last week over a viral photo of someone they thought was Justin Bieber biting into a burrito sideways.
Of course, true fans knew it wasn’t the real Biebs.
Among those who figured out the burrito muncher wasn’t really Bieber was The Star's Vinay Menon, who called the photo out as a fake on Friday. (iHeartRadio.ca wasn't fooled either... we didn't post anything about it.)
On Sunday, confirmation that is was a prank came in a behind-the-scenes YouTube video by Yes Theory.
The not-so-convincing Bieber in the pink hoodie was Cambridge, Ont. model Brad Sousa, a Bieber lookalike who flew to L.A. for two days to help create a little fake news.
The faux Biebs photo not only went viral but spawned memes – and inspired Global News online journalist Adam Frisk to attend a Halloween party in Toronto on Saturday as "Burrito Bieber."
